EXCERPTS FROM REV. SLOGGETT'S MESSAGE "NATURE OR NURTURE"

Ephes. 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

CONCORDANCE SAYS OF NATURE- NATIVE DISPOSITION, ATTIDTUDES, ENVIRONMENTS, AND ACTIONS HAPPENING BECAUSE OF HISTORICAL CALCULATIONS, BLOOD LINE OR FORCES BEYOND AND OUTSIDE OF CONTROL WITHOUT OUTSIDE INTERVENTION

Ephes. 6:4  And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

CONCORDANCE SAYS OF NURTURE- EDUCATION, INSTRUCTION, TRAINING, DISCIPLINARY CHASTISEMENT, MILD REBUKES, AND WARNINGS OF LOVE

NATURE-

THE FORCES AND PROCESSES COLLECTIVELY THAT CONTROL THE PHENOMENA
OF THE PHYSICAL WORLD INDEPENDENTLY OF HUMAN VOLITION OR INTERVENTION; IN SOME REALMS CLASIFIED AS MOTHER NATURE, LUCK, OR CARMA.

NURTURE-

1. care for a young thing: to give tender care and protection to a child, a young animal, or a plant, helping it to grow and develop

2. encourage to flourish: to encourage somebody or something to grow, develop, thrive, and be successful

 3. keep a feeling: to keep a feeling in the mind for a long time, allowing it to grow or deepen

4.  environmental influence: environmental influence on an organism, especially when contrasted with what is determined GENETIC OR NATURAL

NATURE-

Job 14:1

Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

Proverbs 16:25

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 21:12

The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

Proverbs 12:15

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Judges 17:6

In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

NURTURE-

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Titus 2:3-5

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; [4] That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [5] To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Ephes. 6:1-4

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. [2] Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) [3] That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. [4] And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Nurturing is creating, by choice, action and pupose, a better environment, society or culture.

We try to affect our world without ever affecting our community, and we try to affect our community without it ever affecting ourselves.

Nature affects individuals from forever, nurturing affects forever through individuals.

DOUBT IS NATURAL, FAITH IS NURTURABLE; SIN IS NATURAL, RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NURTURABLE; HATE IS NATURAL, LOVE IS NURTURABLE.

FOR NATURE TO TAKE IT'S COURSE, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO, IS NOTHING.  FOR NURTURING TO TAKE PLACE, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO WORK AT IT.
